Applications

The pumps in standard 3A0/3A1 design and finish can be used for industrial applications, in textile, surface treatment and water technology processes as well as for all plant and process applications in the food, dairy and beverage industries. Thanks to its complete hygienic design and the use of materials with pore free, smooth surfaces the pump is most suited for use in the pharmaceutical industry, medicinal techniques and biotechnological processes. Special fields of application are the pumping of pure water/WFI as well as in plants for the production of parenteralia and injection infusions which have to conform to FDA regulations.

Contra Adapta®:

  • Stationary on pump foot for fixed installation
  • IEC standard motors or NEMA motors can be connected easily by means of standard coupling, either directly or via an intermediate adapter flange. Single pump shaft size supported in double bearing.
  • The pump can remain in the pipe line when the motor is serviced or replaced.

Design

The construction of the pump is enhanced by the use of rolled and forged stainless steels in quality 1.4404 (316L) and/or 1.4435. The intermediate stages of the multi-stage pumps have open diffusers.

Shaft seals:

Depending on application and media, single or double mechanical seals, tandem or back-to-back, with flushing or sealing water connection. The inboard mechanical seal is cooled and cleanable due to its optimum position in the product flow. Materials selected to suit media pumped. The mechanical seals used for the 3A2/3A3 standard pumps are single inboard mechanical seals with an optimum position in the product flow to ensure cooling as well as CIP cleaning and sterilisation according to the criteria of hygienic design. Materials selected to suit media pumped. Standard materials SiC/SiC/EPDM (FDA conform) Option: material pairing SiC/SiC/Kalrez white

Connection types:

  • Sterile threads to DIN 11864-1
  • Sterile flanges to DIN 11864-2

Other connections available conforming to the following standards: SMS, RJT, IDF, clamp connection to DIN and ISO or other standards, special sterile threaded fittings and sterile small flanges.
